1. Warranty terms and validity
The warranty applies to all classic vehicles except for those used for hire, motorsport, competition or rallying, or in the case of vehicles tested for use for one or more of these purposes. This warranty applies only in the case of vehicles used for their intended purposes and serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
2. Warranty period
The warranty is valid for 12 months and/or 10,000 kilometres, whichever is reached sooner, with effect from the date on which these warranty terms and conditions are signed. It is transferable as of right if the vehicle is sold until the warranty expires, unless the vehicle is sold to a motor trade professional. As part of the application of the warranty, any period of at least 7 days during which the vehicle is immobilised will be added to the remaining term of the warranty. This period will run from the date on which the buyer submits his or her request for assistance under the terms of the warranty or the date on which the vehicle is made available for repair, if this is later than that of the request for assistance.
3. Geographical scope of the warranty
The warranty applies in Metropolitan France and in the Principality of Monaco, as well as in those European countries not excluded or suspended on the insurance Green Card of the vehicle.
4. Content of the warranty
The warranty covers exclusively the following parts and components:
Engine (all the lubricated moving parts, the cylinder head, the cylinder head gasket, the oil pump and the turbocharger, as well as all mechanical damage affecting the engine block and resulting directly from the fault observed);
Manual or automatic gearbox (all the internal moving parts; the converter, gearwheels, shafts, main bearings, bearings, synchros, circlips and selector fork, as well as all mechanical damage affecting the sump and resulting directly from the fault observed);
Axle/transmission (the moving parts of the axle; the driveshafts, differentials, bearings and flanges, as well as all mechanical damage affecting the sump and resulting directly from the fault observed);
Clutch (release bearing, disc, slave and master cylinder, fork, bearing guide, mechanism);
Steering (box, cross-pieces and cylinders, power steering system);
Cooling system (water pump, thermostat, fan and radiator; pipes and hoses are excluded);
Fuel system (carburettor, injection pump and fuel pump);
Electrical system (starter, alternator, ignition unit and windscreen wiper motor).
The warranty covers parts and labour, subject to the maximum amount set out below.
5. Amount of coverage
The amount of the repairs or replacements covered by this warranty shall not exceed 10% of the price of the car (including French sales tax) per fault.
6. Application of the warranty
In case of breakdown, the owner of the car covered by the aforementioned warranty must contact the seller as soon as possible. If necessary, the vehicle will be transported to one of the seller’s facilities.
No work will be undertaken without the prior agreement of the seller.
As part of the application of the warranty, and following the notification of a fault to the seller, the seller reserves the right to appoint an expert to certify and assess the cost of the damage. In the case of a fault covered by the warranty, the seller reserves the right to supply new or secondhand parts to repair the vehicle.
7. Warranty exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
– All parts not mentioned in “4. Content of the warranty”;
– Faults resulting from faulty workmanship, theft, vandalism, bad weather, accidents, fire, frost, lightning or the removal of the vehicle;
– Faults caused by deliberate or fraudulent errors committed by the owner or by gross negligence on his/her part, and notably the failure to carry out the necessary preventive actions and measures to prevent damage or aggravation of damage to the vehicle;
– Faults due to participation in a motorsport event (races, rallies);
– Modifications to the vehicle not homologated by the manufacturer;
– Faults linked to work undertaken on the vehicle outside the manufacturer’s dealer network;
– More generally, faults due to improper use or maintenance of the vehicle.
This contract does not include any breakdown or recovery service. You are therefore strongly recommended to take out such cover from your insurance company.
